From August 27 to 29, Haulotte Germany placed safety innovation at the heart of the customer experience during the annual SYSTEM-CARD trainers’ meeting, hosted by System Lift at the Beverland Group Resort in Ostbevern. Nearly 50 participants attended this event dedicated to knowledge sharing and best practices for safe use of aerial work platforms.
Thomas Wegeler, General Manager of Haulotte Germany, highlighted four key areas of innovation:
- Operator safety
- Worksite safety
- Transport safety
- Built-in MEWP safety

2. Worksite safety
- Obstacle Detection Assist: reduces the risk of collision between the upper structure of a MEWP and overhead obstacles in areas with limited visibility.
- Pedestrian Detection Assist: a smart camera and alert system that warns both operators and pedestrians of potential collision risks.
3. Transport safety
- Haulotte Activ’Lighting System: a dedicated lighting solution that ensures safe loading and unloading operations.
- High Visibility basket: improves machine visibility in low-light environments, reducing collision risks.
- Transport handle: an ergonomic handle with an integrated control button, allowing operators to stabilize themselves while safely maneuvering the machine.
4. Built-in MEWP safety
- MyCompanion, a user-friendly tool providing operators with clear and comprehensive information about the machine and its working environment.
- Advanced Access Management (AAM), integrated into the SHERPAL telematics solution, enabling fleet managers to remotely control machine access and usage while increasing operator safety and preventing unauthorized operations.
A clear vision: making safety a priority
“Safety is at the core of our mission. These innovations are not just features, they represent essential standards designed to protect operators, optimize worksites, and support our customers in achieving safer and more responsible MEWP operations,” said Thomas Wegeler.
“The SYSTEM-CARD is the leading safety training program for aerial work platforms, telehandlers, forklifts, and cranes in the German-speaking market. Being invited to speak in front of this highly experienced trainer group is a mark of distinction – these professionals represent the highest standard in operator qualification and practical safety instruction” said the SystemLift organisation
